DucKing Malaysia a copycat of Duck King Indonesia?

December 12th, 2008

Check out the logos below and you call the shots!

Duck King - the real one

DucKing with the single K

DucKing with the single K

I’ve passed by this DucKing (the one with the single K ;-) ) a few times at JayaOne. It was crowded all the time, I guess they must be serving great ducks. Unfortunately, I have not tried even once.

Apparently, these guys at DucKing (Malaysia Duck Kings) are infringing the rights of the original Duck King (Indonesia Duck Kings) using their trademark and copyrights.

Although the Warning Notice did not specify who the real copycats are, I guess it is quite obvious by just looking at the logos. My thought is that they just serve the Warning Notice so that remedial action will be taken by these Malaysians Duck Kings. Hehe..

Whatever it is, I have not heard of the popular Duck King – Indonesia.

If the brand really is that strong that the DucKings “borrowed” it for use, they are kinda smart initially.

Not now…. haha…

They are soooooooo stupid. I mean they can call themselves ducking or consult with a lawyer on that…different country can use the same name esp if the Indonesia chain is not interested to set up stores here. But to copy the exact logo and the font type is just asking for trouble.

To make matter worst, the food is actually quite ok.
