Maxis wants to know your interest in iPhone 3G S

In less than four months of Maxis bringing iPhone 3G to Malaysia, Apple has launched the newer iPhone 3G S.

Finally and eventually Maxis had to launch iPhone 3G S to Malaysians, and now there is a hint of that from Maxis official website.

I have been a bit critical of their launching of iPhone 3G previously, because it is too expensive too late.

I guess the average Joe like me could be better off without the iPhone from Maxis with the initial price of RM 2540 (8GB) and RM 2960 (16GB), and also lesser with a monthly commitment.

However, it seems that Maxis has taken cue from its previous launch and now checking the public’s interest on the iPhone 3G S before fixing any pricing or package or even upgrade for their existing customers.

Questions like how much will the iPhone 3G S be priced at, what is the subsidized amount, what is the upgrade options, will the current iPhone 3G pricing be reduced have the same answer.
We are unable to advise the subsidize amount at this moment. We will announce via our website on 15th July 2009. (Check out the FAQ).

No matter what, I would like to say that this is a better way to go, and if I may add, probably their form could include HOW MUCH ARE YOU LOOKING AT TO PAY FOR IPHONE 3G S? 😉

Alright, I’m just trying to be cheeky.

Is iPhone only for the fashionable and high-net worth people? I have had my time infatuated with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPod whatever.

Lately there are so many competitors in the smartphone market and my interest had switched to Android. If I’m one of the average Joes, I guess the iPhone 3G S pricing that is to-be-advised in the future had better be appealing enough.

So let’s watch out for July 15th. 🙂

What do you think?

What bollocks – with all the hype over the iPhone I personally think that even Windows Mobile (with 6.5 coming out soon) is better than the iPhone. The 3GS hasn’t made that much of a change feature-wise and to be honest Apple would be much better off with a rolling release strategy if they want to compete properly in the future.

blackberry for the win! I think the pricing for BB in this country is at least a lot better than the iphone 3g/3gs

We have got Windows Mobile and BlackBerry fans 🙂 This just reinforce the need to have a better pricing package on iPhone, although there’s this exclusivity advantage to Maxis.
My guess that BB pricing is better because there’s competition?

Btw, do we have Palm Pre owners? Hehe..

      iPhone 3GS with hotlink plan.
16GB – rm2490, 32G – rm 2990 (quite cheap as compared to their first launch of iPhone 3G)
