Parker Brothers is the publisher of Monopoly board game and owns it as a registered trademark. Hasbro is Parker Brothers parent company, hence any use of Monopoly’s logo and name has to be licensed by Hasbro.

Most of the time the author is just trying to tell the reader how to win a Monopoly game.
